Airfix Morris Quad & 25pdr

Good evening everyone.

I haven't been posting in a while, since I haven't really been feeling well, morally. It's been a depressing past few weeks, and I've been making some thinking and pondering. I've been rearranging some things, and changing parts of my life.

I am currently waiting to have my paycheck before I order some Italians, so I have been finishing my Airfix Italians, Revell Siberians, Revell DAK, and FJ's.

Anyway, here's some work back from November.

Crew are a mix of Airfix Ghurkas and original crew.

Easy conversions on the Ghurkas, as seen in this terribly blurry photo.

I decided to not include the drivers, as they were needed elsewhere.

Up next: Revell/Matchbox Pz.II

Thanks for reading.

  1. Good work on the 25pdr, do you intend to base the gun etc?
I hope your morale improves- sometimes our expectations can get us in all sorts of trouble, I've learnt that there are some things that are better to "accept" rather than "expect"- "It is what it is".

    Take care,
    John.

    1. I will be basing the crew, but I leave my guns and vehicles unbased, to give them more versatility (I could make an exception for these, since they won't serve anywhere else than in the Desert Campaign, but I am a little bit of a perfectionist when it comes to uniformity, and they all need to be the same.)

Thanks for the kind advice John, and my morale has definitely improved since I posted.

  2. Such a delightful model is enough to lift anyone's mood!

  3. Sorry to hear you've been feeling low. I do find that the painting a modelling helps at such times. Hope you're feeling more positive soon.

Nice work on the gun and quad, it's such an iconic piece of British/Commonwealth equipment. Good conversions on the crew as well, it's amazing what a head-swap can achieve.

    1. There are no headswaps believe it or not, just "gun/knife removals" and "arm seperatings".

I am feeling much better than I did when posting this.

      Thanks Alan!

  4. An oldie but a goodie. I like your ex-Ghurkas a lot better than the original crew.

    Cheers, Dave

    1. Figures always look better in our minds than they do in reality. I was expecting the crew figures to be at the same standards as there Bofors crew, but was obviously giving airfix's 1960's sculpts too much credit.

  5. Well done mate, this looks great. Love the Gurkha idea for the poses.

    1. Thanks, as soon as I saw the photos on PlasticSoldierReview.com I knew I had to have them, just for the possibilities of crew poses. There are more that will man my (future) 6pdrs, 2pdrs, and 5.5in cannons.
